I'm Losing Weight

The diet that my sister recommended works! She and her hubby have lost weight.

My brother has been following the diet too and he has lost some weight.

There was a time I went on vacation for a week so my body clock and my eating habits were out if whack during that time but I only gained back 2 lbs.

I have lost 10 to 12 lbs since May 20. I would have lost more if I had religiously exercised. I have added brisk walking at the mall my daily thing, it has worked really.

Sign the Petition to Oust Sotto

I remember what MEC said, malakas loob ni Sotto kasi nga naman we live in a country where the people put criminals/thieves/rapists in government posts. Although I don't think that he will be ousted even if the signatures reach 1M, I still support this. I think Sotto is a disgrace to our country.

You can sign the petition here.

Fifty Shades of Grey - Audiobook Version

Why read Fifty Shades of Grey when you can listen to someone reading it to you? There is more emotion in the spoken word.

Sitting is Killing You

Sitting is killing me ever so slowly but surely....

As we enter the second decade of the 21st century, there is one thing nearly all modern Americans have in common: we sit all the time. Though our great shift towards computer-based work has done great things for productivity, it has, unfortunately, done terrible things for our health. From increased risk of heart disease and obesity in the long term, to sharply hampered cholesterol maintenance in the short term, the negative health effects of sitting are starting to weigh heavily against the benefits. Even the medical field – the greatest advocates of reducing sitting time – is plagued by this new health issue. Though doctors and nurses get plenty of walking time, it usually falls to the secretaries, billers, and coders to do all the sitting. And, as we can see, something has to change.

Worldwide Penis Size!!

Saw this on TV. One is the average size of penises around the world while the other shows a high tech map.

The most endowed nations are Congo, Ecuador, Ghana, Colombia and Venezuela. Korea has the smallest, I think. Pinoys, 4.2.

I'm not surprised. Hehehe.

Click on the map to make it bigger.

Lawmakers bid to Decriminalize Prostution

Yap et al have been reading my blog? I wish! Hehehehe.

Rep. Susan Yap (2nd District, Tarlac), principal author of House Bill 1706, said decriminalizing prostitution could be a new approach in addressing the problem.

"We should not view the prostitutes as the source of the problem of prostitution. We should instead run after those who lured them into this kind of business," Yap said.

Yap said the existing law also fails to address the criminal liability of exploiters such as recruiters, pimps, bar or brothel owners and customers who cause the prostitution.

"The measure seeks to help prostitutes by entitling them to government services like medical services, counseling, shelter and legal protection services," Yap said.

My point exactly! Good job! Hehehe.

Nudist Gym

I'm pretty sure a lot of men would like to join a nudist gym. They'd probably be fantasizing the sexy, sweaty bodies of hot women.

But if a lot of men joined, more men than women, then they would just see each other's bodies. Imagine seeing this:

5 Reasons to have Sex

a Care2 favorite by Veronica Peterson

1. Sex boosts your immune system.
2. Sex burns calories.
3. Sex relieves pain.
4. Sex decreases aging.
5. Sex is great for depression.

The best kind of sex is the one you do with someone you love. There are more benefits to doing this with a loved one that doing it with a stranger or doing it alone. You know what I mean.

Legal Prostitution?

I just checked my feeds and saw 2 stories.

Prostitute fined $820,000 for unpaid tax
WARSAW (Reuters) - Poland's tax office has levied a fine of 2.3 million zlotys ($820,000) on an unemployed woman for failing to pay tax on income worth at least 13.7 million zlotys she said she had earned as a prostitute.

Stricter brothel rules?
AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Amsterdam's deputy mayor proposed new measures Tuesday to help tackle forced prostitution, including restricting opening hours for brothels and raising the minimum age for prostitutes to 23 from 18.

I find it interesting that prostitution is legal in some European countries. Here in the Philippines, commercial sex trade is an industry here but of course, no government official would admit this. I don't think it's a bad idea to have commercial sex workers pay taxes, make SSS and Philhealth contributions. It would be easier to monitor these workers' safety and their practices.

Most Popular New Year's Resolutions

From Wikipedia:

A New Year's resolution is a commitment that an individual makes to a project or the reforming of a habit, often a lifestyle change that is generally interpreted as advantageous. The name comes from the fact that these commitments normally go into effect on New Year's Day and remain until fulfilled or abandoned.

I didn't know resolutions are supposed to start on New Year's eve. I only had one resolution or goal that I started on New Year's Eve and was able to accomplish: I've stopped smoking since Dec. 31, 2002. All other resolutions or goals I made I have either forgotten or abandoned. Hehehe.

In the United States, popular goals include:

* Lose weight
* Get out of debt
* Become more organized
* Maintain a diary
* Save money
* Improve grades
* Get a better job
* Get fit
* Eat right
* Get a better education
* Drink less alcohol
* Quit smoking
* Reduce stress
* Take a trip
* Volunteer to help others
* Be less grumpy
* Be more independent
* Learn something new (such as a foreign language or music)
* Be more of a douchebag

Recent research shows that while 52% of participants in a resolution study were confident of success with their goals, only 12% actually achieved their goals. Men achieved their goal 22% more often when they engaged in goal setting, a system where small measurable goals are used (lose a pound a week, instead of saying "lose weight"), while women succeeded 10% more when they made their goals public and got support from their friends.

I always believed in goals rather than resolutions. I'm posting this topic to use for my classes/discussions.

Google Wave Yay!

I got my Google Wave account a few days ago, thanks to the ever reliable Sandro. Liyam sent me an invite too but I already activated the one from Sandro. Anyway, thanks to Liyam as well, a friend now has his own account.

I still have a few invites left and I'd like to give them away. I wonder if there are any takers. I have to think of a gimmick. Hehehe.
