I watched the video from beginning to end. What shocks me is her statement about the Maguindanao Massacre.
I don´t live in the Philippines. There are people here in my place(non-Filipinos) who asked me about this carnage in Mindanao.
And what shocks me more is her tolerance for private armies. Obviously she does not know much about Philippine history, local politics and the grave human rights violation the warlords brought in their territories.
Warlords was the aftermath of the Spanish encomienda system, which was during the colonization runned by Datus, and last of this Datu was Rajah Lakandala, whose son Christianized and given the name Don Macapagal, the great-great-great grandfather of Gloria Arroyo Macapagal.
Warlords in modern political life is very vital to the Executive Department, first to wield power in a politcal region, whose leader like the Ampatuans get favors from the palace.
In Maguindanao area, private armies is important to neutralised the MILF and the province itself, to protect the Linguasan Marsch that is riched in natural gas worth about 600 billion dollars.
